Contagion

Contagion follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart

I think i was expecting more from this film than it delivered. I enjoyed it, I just did not think it was as good as it could have been. The whole film never seemed to pick up pace. It seemed to meander along at the same speed, I was not expecting an action film, but this was almost dry.  THey had many different sub plots which they never seemed to conclude, and they had so many different families and characters none of them were fully developed.  They also mentioned other issues - i.e. that it was mutating, but never went with that idea. All the way through the film I kept thinking here we go - its going to pick up any minute now - but that moment never came.

It was a film that almost wanted to be too much but never really got their. And the ending was abrupt and didn't really conclude much - again you were expecting things to develop and maybe pick up pace but instead felt like it was just dropped off the end.  It was a film that almost should have either been a mockumentry or a drama, but it was somewhere in between, the idea of this contagion was almost realistic but the execution of the film lacked somewhat.

I think if you want to see this film, you can't expect much from it. The idea was good, and I enjoyed the movie. However i would not bother seeing it at the cinema as this is just a waste of your time and money.  I just wished this film was as good as it could have been.
