Sherlock Holmes - Game of Shadows

Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) has always been the smartest man in the room...until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large-Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris)-and not only is he Holmes' intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective. When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead, the evidence, as construed by Inspector Lestrade (Eddie Marsan), points to suicide. But Sherlock  Holmes deduces that the prince has been the victim of murder-a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by Professor Moriarty. The cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead of Holmes as he spins a web of death and destruction-all part of a greater plan that, if he succeeds, will change the course of history.

I had high hopes for this film, after his previous Sherlock Holmes which was a great success. And this film did not disappoint.  A little darker than the last, with just the right injection of humour, great filmography and filming techniques added to a great cast made this film fantastic.  The modern uses of camera angles and filming techniques, added to the Victorian era gave this film a modern twist to a film set in the past.  It had a great story line, which kept you guessing and enthralled throughout.  It was also well casted with Robert Downy Junior as a fantastic Sherlock, and Jude Law as a great Watson. It was also nice to see Noomi Rapace (from girl with the Dragoon Tattoo) in another role. Even the more minor characters like Watson's wife were well casted.

Their was a great action shots to this film and very dramatic which made this film stand out, a slight twist on the original Sherlock, but great fun to watch.  I saw this at the cinema over Christmas and this made it a great film to watch for the time of year. I really enjoyed it and I think its worth a watch.  Especially to swoon at Robert Downy Junior.
